Rahmatganj force Sheikh Jamal to split point in BPL

It was impressive performance by Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society as they came from behind forced Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to play a 2-2 goal draw in the Bangladesh Premier League Football that has begun from today (Friday) at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Goplaganj.

In the day’s match, midfielder Kawshik Barua and Uzbekistan midfielder Otabek Valizhonov scored one goal each for Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club while Brazilian forward Michael De Silva Moris and midfielder Mohammad Munna netted one goal apiece for Rahmatganj MFS who led the first half by 1-0 goal.

Koushik put Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club ahead in the 17th minute while after the breather Rahmatganj staged a brilliant fight back as Moris restored the parity in the 53rd minute of the mach.

Sheikh Jamal DC however took lead again as Otabek scored the second goal for his team in the 55th minute while Munna again leveled the margin scoring the second goal for old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj MFS in the 65th minute of the match.

After that both the teams could not score further in the remaining proceeding and had to leave the field splitting one point each.

Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club will play their next match against Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra scheduled to be held on December 23 at the same venue while Rahmatganj MFS will play against Abahani Limited Dhaka on the following day on December 24 at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Saturday’s matches: Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited bs Bangladesh Police Football Club at Bashundhara Sports Complex. Both the matches kick off at 2.30 pm.
