Bangladesh makes flying start in SAFF U-15 Women’s Championship

Bangladesh U-15 eve football team got off to a flying start in the SAFF U-15 Women’s championship as they thrashed Bhutan by 8-0 goals in a match held today (Tuesday) at Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mohammad Mostafa Kamal Stadium in the city’s Kamalapur.

Bangladesh found the net early when Umehla Mara scored the first goal in the 7th minute. Thuinuye doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 21st minute of the match.

Joynob Bibi Rita scored the third goal for Bangladesh in the 28th minute.

Back with a healthy 3-0 lead in the first half, the hosts came to the field in a more organized way and added five more goals to their tally when Kanon Rani Bahadur scored the fourth goal for Bangladesh in the 50th minute of the match.

Sauravi Akanda Prity’s brilliant hat-trick guided Bangladesh to thrash Bhutan by 8-0 goals.Sauravi Akanda Prity joined the party scoring the fifth goal for Bangladesh in the 68th minute and she scored her second and sixth goal for Bangladesh in the 73rd minute of the match.

Umela Marma made the score line 7-0 for Bangladesh in the 76th minute while Prity completed her hat-trick to seal Bangladesh’s victory in the 90+2nd minute of the match.

Apart from host Bangladesh and Bhutan, Nepal is the third team who are participating in the double league basis tournament. The top team of the table will emerge as champion.

Bangladesh will play their second match against Nepal on November 5 and play the return matches against Bhutan and Nepal on November 7 and November 11 respectively.
