Sheikh Jamal DC, Saif SC split point in BPL

Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club split point with Saif Sporting Club when their match ended in a 2-2 goal draw in the TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held today (Friday) at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

With the day’s outcome, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, stand third position in the league table with 16 points from eight matches while Saif Sporting Club bagged 11 points playing the same number of matches.

In the day’s match, Uzbekistan striker Otabek Valijonov and Gambian forward Solomon King Kanform scored one goal each for Sheikh Jamal DC while foreign recruit Sunday Udoh struck twice for Saif SC.

The match was locked goalless at the breather.

After the barren first half, Otabek finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Sheikh Jamal in the 50th minute, but the lead lasted for few minutes as Sunday restored the parity for Saif converting a spot kick in the 55th minute of the match.

Saif SC took the lead in the crucial moment when Sunday scored his second goal in the 90+1st minute but, Solomon denied Saif SC’s victory as he leveled the margin scoring the second goal for Sheikh Jamal DC in the 90+4th minute
of the match.

Sheikh Jamal will play their next match against Abahani Limited, Dhaka on Wednesday (March 16) at the same venue while Saif SC will face Bashundhara Kings on the same day at Bashundhara Sports Complex in the city.

Saturday’s matches: Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited vs Uttar Baridhara Club at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Munshiganj, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra vs Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra at Bashundhara Sports Complex , Dhaka and Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society vs Bangladesh Police Football Club at Sylhet District Stadium in Sylhet. All the matches kick off at 3.30 pm.
