Kingsley secures Bashundhara’s facile victory

Nigerian-born Bangladeshi footballer Eleta Kingsley scored two goals as holders Bashundhara Kings blanked Saif Sporting Club by 3-0 goals in their first of pending three matches of TVS Bangladesh Premier League Football held today at Bangabandhu National Stadium here.

Apart from Eleta Kingsley’s two goals, Brazilian striker Robson supported him with a lone goal for Bashundhara. All the three goals came in the second half.

After the barren first half, Bashundhara Kings came to the field with more organized way and got the reap when Eleta Kingsley broke the deadlock scoring the first goal in the 54th minute. He doubled the lead scoring his second goal in the 63rd minute of the match.

Robson sealed the victory scoring the third goal for Bashundhara in the 80th minute of the match.

Bashundhara, who earlier retained the title of the BPL for the second successive time, clearly dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while the federation Cup runners-up Saif Sporting Club were totally off-colored on the day.

The day’s win saw, Bashundhara extended their lead with 61 points from 22 matches while Saif SC finished the league at fourth position with 24 points from 24 outings.

Bashundhara will play their remaining two matches against Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Limited and Dhaka Abahani Limited on September 17 and 20 respectively at the same venue.
