Bangladesh take on Kyrgyzstan today

Bangladesh will take on host Kyrgyzstan in their second match of the Three Nations Cup scheduled to be held today at Dolen Omurzakov Stadium in Bishkek.

The match kicks off at 8.30 pm (BST).

Though Bangladesh made a losing start in the tournament after going down 0-2 defeat to upper ranked Palestine, Jamal Bhuyan and Co. are upbeat to continue their fight against the host to snatch a good result.

Prior to the second match, Bangladesh national team went through a rigorous practice session today under the supervision of team’s head coach Jamie Day.

Forward Rahbar Wahed Khan, who debuted for the national team against Palestine in Bangladesh’s first match of the tournament, said it’s natural to feel pressure in the first international match on a stage like that, but in the last ten minutes I was confident though we could not win the match.

The Canadian expatriate footballer said they had good practice today and everyone is working hard to win the match against Kyrgyzstan who made a good start in the tournament beating Palestine by a solitary goal in the tournament opening match.

“We worked on some finishing during the practice session and upbeat to try our best against Kyrgyzstan”, he added.

Midfielder Rakib Hossain said he tried his best in the last match and was upbeat to carry the performance in the next match against Kyrgyzstan. If we are able to play as per the guideline of the coach, we’ll be able to do something good against Kyrgyzstan.

Replying to a question, Rakib said Kyrgyzstan is a strong team having good movement, running and placing skills.

Bangladesh national football team’s head coach Jamie Day however termed the match result against Palestine a normal one because Palestine is a much stronger team compared to Bangladesh.

Jamie also expressed stratification over the boys’ performance against Palestine.

The English-born Bangladesh head coach said it’s very difficult for them to prepare for another match in a very short time. In that case some of the players may have to be replaced. There could be quite a change in the playing XI.
