Twenty seven booters report for camp

Twenty seven, out of thirty one, booters reported today to head coach Jamie Day in the city’s local hotel for the residential training camp ahead of the tri-nation tournament in Nepal.

Three players – custodians Anisur Rahman Zico and Ashraful Islam Rana, and winger Mohammad Abdullah — could not report today. The three booters are expected to report for camp tomorrow.

Team’s skipper Jamal Bhuyan is currently staying in India and he will join with the team after March 18. There will be no physical practice session as the booters will have gym and swimming sessions in the hotel tomorrow.

The Bangladesh national football team is expected fly for Nepal on March 18. Earlier, on Tuesday last, the national teams committee announced a 24-memebr Bangladesh squad for the tournament.

Jamie also picked up seven more U-23 players who will also join in the national team’s residential training camp for the Nepal tour.

Bangladesh will take on hosts Nepal and Kyrgyzstan Under-23 team in the tri-nation which will take place from March 23-29 in Kathmandu.

Each team will play one match against each other and the top two sides will play the final on March 29. Squads:
