Sheikh Russel return winning track as Moneke scores hat-trick

Nigerian midfielder Ugochukwu Obi Moneke slammed a brilliant hat-trick saw Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra returned winning track in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football when they dumped all-lossers Arambagh Krira Sangha by 4-0 goals today.

Held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium (BNS), it was the second hat-trick in the ongoing league after Sheikh Jamal’s Gambian forward Pa Omar Jobe scored the first hat-trick.

In the day’s match, Nigerian midfielder Ugochukwu Obi Moneke scored hat-trick with three goals while midfielder Mohammad Abdullah supported him with a lone goal to secure Sheikh Russel emphatic victory on the day.

Moneke opened an account scoring the first goal for Sheikh Russel in the 36th minute and doubled the lead scoring his second goal in the 39th minute of the match.

After the resumption, Moneke completed his hat-trick scoring the third goal in the 46th minute while Mohammad Abdullah sealed the victory scoring the fourth goal for Sheikh Russel in the 73rd minute of the match.

Sheikh Russel dominated the entire proceeding and notched their deserving victory while Arambagh KS were totally off-colored on the day.

With the day’s win, Sheikh Russell improved their tally with 16 points, equal with Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club, from seven matches while bottom-ranked Arambagh Krira Sangha yet to open their account playing six outings.

Sheikh Russel KC will play their next match against Saif Sporting Club on Saturday (Feb. 13) at the same venue while Arambagh Krira Sangha face Abahani Limited, Dhaka on the same day at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.
